Personal Security Questions

Register your answers to these personal security questions. Your answers don't have to be truthful (or even make sense), but make them memorable to you or discreetly write them down for reference.

Personal Security Questions

Add security questions to your account to verify yourself more quickly when making sensitive account changes etc. We may ask for these answers if you request sensitive information about, or make changes to, your account.

Once you create security questions, they cannot be changed. Contact your tax pro to reset your questions. If you've only recently added your questions and are requesting sensitive account information, your tax pro may ask additional questions as well. If you have lost access to your answers, your tax pro will attempt to verify you by other means, but may require an in-person or Zoom meeting. If necessary, write your questions and answers down in a safe place if you will not remember them.

Store a Payment Method Not on file

Save time: Store a payment method to pay your tax prep fees. We'll bill the card on file after you approve your return for filing each year. Request a link to add/update your information below.

Passkeys Not enabled for this device

Passkeys are like supercharged passwords for your account. You can login with a passkey instead of email & password. A passkey is securely stored either on your device (Windows Hello) or in your Google/Apple password manager to use across devices. Passkeys allow you to quickly use your Face ID, Touch ID, Fingerprint ID or device PIN to authenticate yourself when logging in.

Multi-device passkeys are stored by a passkey provider such as Google Password Manager or Apple Passwords and may be available on other devices where that passkey provider is used. Single-device passkeys are stored locally on a specific device, such as with Windows Hello, and generally won't transfer to a new device.

Push Reminders Not enabled for this device

You'll get browser push notifications on your device alerting you to portal activity. Good for those who don't check email often but do check their phone often.

Login to the portal on the device where you want to receive push notifications. Then enable notifications here in Settings and follow the prompts to register that device with the portal.

If your browser asks whether you want to allow notifications from the Client Portal, choose Allow. If notifications have previously been blocked, your browser may require you to allow them in the browser's site settings before you can enable them here.

Two-Factor Authentication

If you login with your email & password, you can pair your account with an authenticator app on your phone (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator) for additional security. If you lose access to your device, contact us to reset your account. Note: If you log in with a passkey, you don't need to use your email, password, or authenticator app when logging in.

Select Add Account in your authenticator app and scan this QR code to pair your device with your Thomas W. Barber CPA account.

An email from CPACharge will arrive soon where you can securely store new payment information. After we review it, we will update your account information here.

Add a Passkey

Give this passkey a name so you can easily identify it later. For example, you might use "Passkey stored on My Dell Inspriron" or "Passkey stored in my Apple account" or "Passkey stored in my Google account: mymail@gmail".
